| "Yongnian County is the largest fastener production base, also a largest collective & distributive base as well. 13 villages and towns with 153 streets all produce fasteners. There are 200 varieties and 3000 specifications in all. In Yongnian County, there are 6 brands of national level, 15 brands of provincial level and 3 famous brands of provincial level."
Since China entered the WTO, Yongnian County has given strong support to fastener industry. Not only does it withstand the shock coming from the foreign fasteners, it also does well in both domestic and foreign markets. Recently, another 50 more tons of fasteners are exported abroad.

However in 2001, Yongnian fastener industry faced great challenges because of its low-end products and small scale. After analyzing the world situation of fastener production and marketing, Yongnian County worked out the strategy--the second take-off. It did cultivate leading companies, focus on quality, build brands, and expand market.
Yongnian County actively participates in giving full support to large-scale enterprises with high technical contents. It encourages small and medium-sized enterprises to establish corporate groups in a form of share holding system. Meanwhile, it promotes standardization production, enhances innovative capacity and builds industrial group. Therefore, the quality of the fasteners is improved, and the upgrade of the products is accelerated. Besides, it sets up distributors and establishes modern logistic distribution system. A marketing network covering all over China is formed.
At present, the number of the fastener enterprises in Yongnian has reduced from 4000 to 2300. The number of the leading companies with assets over 10 million has increased to 1500. 50 enterprises have passed ISO certification. 160 varieties from1500 enterprises have achieved upgrade and connected to the international market. The output of fasteners accordingly reaches 1.6 million tons and the turnover 8 billion yuan, respectively 4 and 8 times that of before China' entry to the WTO. After China entered to the WTO, there are 100,000 tons of fasteners selling to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, the US, etc. |
